Cory Vitiello, the chef-owner of the Harbord Room, known as much for his kitchen skills as for appearing on most-eligible lists, has opened four locations in the past year, including two in the core and a third at Bloor and Church. The fourth replaced THR&Co., his short-lived slow-food restaurant down the block from the Harbord Room. The Flock concept is takeout rotisserie chicken, though I kept hearing from dedicated regulars that it’s really all about the salads. It’s not often that you hear conjoined the words “salad” and “incredible.”

TOBEN Food by Design Inc. (“TOBEN”) was formed in 2005 in Toronto, Ontario as a catering company that specializes in providing fresh, local, artisan cuisine, custom menus, and event management services to both corporate and private cliental. Inspired by global cuisine, TOBEN puts a twist on classic fine dining by bringing the best from the reaches of world; Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, South America, India, Japan, and Europe. Menus are fully customized to reflect the distinct requirements of each client, paying close attention to dietary restrictions, budget, and style of event.
Karen studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design before taking Cordon Bleu classes to pursue her new passion for cooking. Now her art is still based on all of the same elements (colour, texture, and layers). However, she has introduced taste.
For nearly two decades, Karen has been a chef and the business owner of Viva Tastings, a prepared food business with a stall at the St. Lawrence Farmer's Market. Most recently, she has left the St. Lawrence Market and launched an online store vivatastings.com.
Viva Tastings has helped busy individuals and working professionals put the art of taste back in their meals. In the fast-paced city of Toronto, we’re all so busy trying to manage a work-life balance that one of the most significant compromises we make is with the quality of food we consume. Rather than surrendering to unhealthy habits and bland take-out, Karen has designed an online menu based on the art of taste with flavourful chef-prepared meals.
The healthy, chef-prepared hors-d'oeuvres, meals and baked goods are made in small batches with the best local, organic and non-GMO ingredients, and are conveniently available for pickup or delivery to your home or office.
In addition to the prepared foods, Karen holds cooking classes and culinary corporate team events in her downtown facility near the University of Toronto. Her underground restaurant '6 Degrees' holds invite-only events once a month.
Meet award-winning chef, teacher, advocate, husband, dad, musician, hockey coach, sales person, manager, and psoriasis conqueror – Jordan Wagman. He wears each title as a badge of honour, and takes on each role with precision and tremendous passion.
Jordan’s unique culinary journey began over camp fires in Northern Ontario’s Algonquin Park and progressed to the kitchens of some of the top chefs in the culinary world. The demands on his physical health combined with his desire to be a very present father and husband, challenged him to take a road less traveled. It is a journey that has inspired so many people to look up, listen and follow him along on his wild food ride.
At the age of 12, Jordan was diagnosed with psoriasis, an often debilitating autoimmune disease. He was hospitalized, medicated and forced to follow extensive diets during the defining years of his life. No medicine and no diet gave Jordan the relief he was so desperately seeking.
Jordan discovered that if he removed certain ingredients he could still eat the food he has always loved to cook, share and serve. He set out to create healthy, and delicious recipes that look and taste like restaurant quality dishes. Whether a novice in the kitchen or a seasoned at-home cook, Jordan’s recipes are accessible. This approach is why his baby food cookbook currently sits at #2 on the Amazon bestseller list and his other publications continue to garner rave reviews.
Having taken this unique road on his culinary journey, Jordan has a renewed focus on food and wellness. His cooking classes for adults and kids alike are sold out, and the demand is real. He is ready to share his passion, his story and each amazing recipe, in hopes of changing a few lives while people continue to enjoy indulging in all the goodness each ingredient has to offer.
L-eat Catering has been providing customized food menus for event catering in Toronto since 1983. Our team of professional caterers are able to create memorable corporate functions and social events including catering for corporate galas, weddings, engagement parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays, baby showers, and anniversaries.
